No longer with BNL, but...

Steven Page is back. He never left you say? After he parted ways with BNL, many, including myself, were afraid we'd never hear his melodic voice again. This album shows that he is just as good as a solo artist, though I'll always miss him jumping around on stage with the rest of the BNL boys.

Many of the songs on this album are classic Steve: upbeat, peppy, quirky, reminiscent of The Vanity Project. Songs like 'Clifton Springs' and 'Monogamists' are slow, romantic ballads.

Songs like 'Entourage'defy description, but are just plain fun.

Buy this album and enjoy!

Page One is worth the download

I've anxiously awaited Steven's return I wasn't disapointed with Page One. Lots of catchy pop songs (Indecision, She's Trying to Save Me, Over Joy) mixed in with other songs that reminded me of what a good song writer he is. I enjoyed the horns and chorus line sound of Leave Her Alone as well as Marry Me.

Steven's attempt to write about leaving Barenaked Ladies with A New Shore came across with much less venom or hurt feelings than BNL's You Run Away.

I really don't want to compare Page One with BNL's All in Good Time but I will say it's interesting to hear the song writing influences from both parties and compare it to previous BNL work. Sometimes it's easy to tell which songs were more influenced by either Steven or Ed while others songs combined their unique (although sometimes similiar) styles.

I can't say I loved every song but overall, a really nice job from Steven Page introducing himself post-BNL.

Amazing album

Where do I begin?? I've listened to BNL faithfully since I was a teenager. Steven writes with his heart (mixed with witty humor and amazingly catchy lyrics.) Steven's voice is stunning if you listen to any of his work I guarantee you will have goosebumps. This new solo album showcases his incredible talent and it's an album I guarantee you will be playing again and again. I will miss him in BNL but this album is proof that the break-up wasn't a mistake. Congrats Steve I wish you all the best!
