iTunes Review
One of the most intense dissections of game ever recorded, Paid in Full is spoken not from the perspective of a witness but as willing participant. The moments captured on this classic reflects a mindset later emulated by Nas, Biggie, 2Pac and the rest. Rakim reveals potential dangers unseen by the naked eye. Scarier, Ra demonstrates the multiple ways an MC can play themselves with an economy of words that, when stitched together, present an epic narrative worthy of a Martin Scorsese movie. "Move the Crowd," "I Ain't No Joke," "I Know You Got Soul," and "As My Rhyme Goes On" are all amazingly cinematic. An absolute classic.

Hip Hop Landmark
When this album came out in 1987 it changed rap forever. It represents everything good about rap: Although modern day rappers are too materialistic and talk about money too much, most of them still have better flows than most old school rappers. Not Rakim - Ra was the first rapper that could really flow. Other early rappers like KRS-One were very good, but they had no flow. Rakim flows like a modern rapper, but writes creative lyrics like an old-school rapper. On this album, Eric B. lays down some of the best beats ever, while Ra raps over them perfectly with his amazing flow and lyricism. This is an undisputed classic - aruguably the BEST ALBUM EVER.
The 10 Commandments of Rap
are you kidding me, the best album to breakdance to? It probably is, but that makes this album sound like some b-boy crap, an insult to this great masterpiece. Paid in Full is one of the best rap album ever, and it certainly is the holy bible of rap. Every famous rapper has taken a lesson from Rakim on this album. Eminem, Nas, Notorious B.I.G., you name 'em. And with such slick lines as "I take 7 MCs, put 'em in a line. And add 7 more brothas who think they can rhyme. Well, it'll take 7 more before I go for mine, and that's 21 MCs ate up at the same time", it's no surprise. Although Rakim mostly boast about his mad skills, he certainly deserved it. And Eric B. is absolutely phenomanal, I mean "Chinese Arithmetic" is off the hook. Anyways, anyone who claims to be serious about rap, or claims to be a rap fan NEEDS to get this album.
love it!
this is the absolute best rap cd to breakdance 2! bboys pick this up!
