Written by Ingrid Michaelson and A&R exec Marshall Altman, “Parachute” was a chart-topping hit for Cheryl Cole before Michaelson reclaimed the song and released her own version in late 2010. Far more pop-influenced than her earlier material, the song shows the full scope of Michaelson’s writing, while Dan Romer’s production proves he’s just as comfortable reshaping the rules of Top 40 radio as he is working with homespun folk-pop fare.

It's HER SONG. SHE WROTE IT.
For anybody giving it one star because you didn't do your research, Ingrid wrote this song for Cheryl Cole. It's is INGRID'S song, and thank goodness, because she does it justice and more. Next time you pan something, do a quick Google search first. A lot of us have been hoping for a while that she'd release this on her own.

New style
This is a new path for her; sort of Sara Bareilles-esque. I do love Ingrid, and am always eager to see where she'll go next, although I think this genre doesn't suit her as much as her usual "The Chain" and "The Way I Am" styles. That being said, I still love the song! And Ingrid! Great work!
I love the original Ingrid
Ingrid Michaelson is unique and original and that is what I LOVE about her. She has always been about the music, not the industry. This song is just like every other pop song out there. I prefer her with her guitar and piano. I've seen her live and she is absolutley amazing! Sorry, I don't mean to hate, I just don't care for this song.
