It grew on me and it's GREAT for driving in Los Angeles at night!
by Marnie's OpinionI have been an avid Hybrid fan for 8+ years now. This album initially was horrid to me, but the more I listened the more I loved it.
previously I thought that the 1st CD was better, I now beleive the 2nd Album is where it's at!
the 2nd is wonderful as a whole CD. "Coma" really hooks you and drives right on into the whole record. GREAT for driving in Los Angeles at night!
The first CD is just OK, "Desert Chase" and "Shadows on the City" are the only ones I like on it.
brilliant stuff
by setanta san diegoI was driving through Joshua Tree Desert in November and put on part 1 of this mix. I had other people in the car with me who didn't know who/what the music was. I could see the interest increase and by Parks on Fire they were all blown away...... these people are electronic music snobs but they were truely in awe. The first part is one of the most amazing innovative sets I've heard, with the possible exception of Trentemollers 2006 Essential Mix, in ages. Timeless.
The second part is just brilliant. I love the whole big intense build-up to the break in the middle of the set at Formula of Fear and how it tapers out more joyfully at the end. If you like your music crisp, clear, sonic, beautiful.... this is a must listen. Hybrid- take your time on volume 2.....I'll be loving this for a long time.
I want my money back.
by RhythmDeviantYeah yeah great technicality blahblah blah foray into downtempo who cares. This is not what it sets itself up to be. Hybrid you should be ashamed of yourselves. The only reason this managed two stars is because I actually startedto get a hint of what they are actually capable of, but not until the second "mix." By that time I had already fallen asleep due to the mindless drollery of the first half and was awoken by what seemed to be a blind stab at a pregressive/trance mixdown. Give me a break. I could do this crap with my wang tied behind my back, and I wouldn't get paid for it. Next time come correct douchers.
