My discovery of the Elora Festival Singers and the Choir of St. John’s, Elora has been one that has brought me great satisfaction. Both under the direction of Noel Edison, these two Canadian groups represent a fine example of the English choral style. Their musical range is impressive: from William Byrd to Arvo Pärt, they present their music with the most exquisite precision, brilliance and (a personal favorite) unparalleled phrasing, so characteristic of great choral singing. From my experience, anything you can get your hands on from these groups will fully satisfy you, not only for their superb singing but also for their extensive repertoire. It is a purchase you will not regret.
