Fond memories
I first heard this album while visiting my aunt in Louisiana as a pre-teen. I can't tell you how many times I played it before leaving for home that evening. It was my introduction to Cajuns. By the time I was 30 years of age, I think all of America knew of Cajuns, primarily through the spicey foods they are known for. But, it's this man's humor that he found in the Cajun culture that makes the food even better. Justin had a cooking show on pubic TV for many years and he always told his stories while cooking and I just loved to watch it on Saturday mornings. One of the sadest days of my life was when I learned of his passing. I'm still a big fan of standup comedy and frequently visit comedy clubs to support the art. But I cut my my comic teeth on this guy and still love hearing his tales to this day.
