Paul Anka Sings His Big 10, Vol. 1 collects ten tracks recorded by the singer in the late '50s and early '60s. These are the original versions of such classics as "Diana," "You Are My Destiny," and "Put Your Head on My Shoulder." For casual fans looking for all of Anka's hits on one CD, check out 30th Anniversary Collection on Rhino.

Classic and Beautiful

As a girl in the 21st century, I know first hand that Paul Anka can still make us swoon. That amazingly clear voice, those unbelievably catchy songs, the timelessness as well as the throwback - all combined make him one of the greats. While many crooners simply sang songs they liked, Paul Anka wrote them. Whoever it was that gave this album one star because Kurt Cobain would roll over in his grave needs to wield the stars wisely. Paul Anka did cover "Smells Like Teen Spirit" but goodness gracious, it's not on this album! And even then Dave Grohl liked it, and that's as close as we can get. I think it's only fair to let a legend cover songs when so many cover his. That said, this album is all Paul Anka -- and that's all it needs.

This is truly the best of the best, nothing on the radio can beat this. Pit your head on my shoulder is probably my favorite song

Born in Ottawa, Ontario, in 1941 to parents of Lebanese Christian descent who owned a local restaurant, Anka proved a child prodigy, beginning his show business life at the age of 12 as an impressionist.
