Quality-Original-Singer-Songwriter!
This is a terrific CD with great musicians and well-written tunes...highly recommended!! My favorites--Sunday Afternoon, Lately, Hills of Home, Pen To Paper and Going Home. He has a new CD coming out 2/06. Several of the musicians are also on Robinella's cd's--also recommended. Why is the whole CD not available?? And Kenny Chesney is the one who is rich???
Heck of a debut
Jay Clark has made one incredible debut with "Pen to Paper." Somber, nostalgic, heart-wrenching, and hilarious... all in one satisfying album. The acoustics of this independant singer/songwriter are well accented with help from Robinella and members of C.C. String Band, as well as others. With a gritty, decidedly southern flare that's a bit classic country and a bit Appalachian bluegrass, there' so much depth to this album. "Coal Minin' Man" tugs at the listener's heartstrings, while "Catfish" (my personal favorite) inspires a Friday-night fish fry, and "Regurgitated" speaks to anyone who's had a bad relationship. Give this album a try... like a catfish on a chicken liver, it won't take long to get hooked.
Great
Just last night I went to a local restaurant to hear some occasional live music, and there was Jay Clark.
I wasn't sure at first, but when he finished I was hoping he would sing more.
He has well thought out songs and a great voice.
When I left I wished I had gotten an album, but luckily, he's on iTunes!
