Another Gem from the King of Nashville Power Pop
Looks like Greg Pope is going to have to be filed under the heading with folks like Jason Faulkner, Jellyfish, dada, The Grays and all those other great artists who never get their too. Too clever? Too hooky? Too much power and not enough pop? Well who knows. What I do know is that Pope covers lots of ground on this EP... echoing influence from early Who to ELO to Marshall Crenshaw and more. Between Pete and PopMonster, there is plenty of tasty rock & roll for the listener who likes to hear real instruments, real vocals and real songs... not flatulent hippy jam stuff, over produced top 40 garbage or horrible frat boy rock bands. This friends is for people with refinement and taste. Enjoy.
Great followup to Popmonster
This EP is a terrific followup to one of my favorite albums from last year, Popmonster. Sleeping Dogs and In My Head are early favorites.
