iTunes Review

An up-and-coming producer from Melbourne, Australia, M-Phazes got his start posting beats to online message boards, and he's recently worked with underground favorites like Jean Grae, Saigon, and Pharoahe Monch. Rocking a soulful sound clearly inspired by hip-hop's golden era, he links up with Coalmine Records for Phazed Out, a remix project that finds him lending his impressive production talents to a who's who of indie rappers both old and new. QB thug specialist Big Noyd connects with L.A. mainstays Krondon and Phil Da Agony on the rowdy "All Out." Masta Ace and Bekay get loose on the BK pride anthem "Brooklyn Bridge," while Boot Camp Clik reps Heltah Skeltah do their thing on "Midnight Madness." DJ Rhettmatic contributes some typically on-point cuts, while M-Phazes' beats are resoundingly dope from start to finish. Other emcees include J-Live (on the single "Super Good") and CL Smooth ("Perfect Timing"), plus Sadat X, Termanology, and Chubb Rock on the excellent posse cut "Underground Railroad."

The Realness

I wish M-Phazes would have performed at the grammy's instead of Dead Mouse, who, by the way, has done his best to kill music. YO, WHAT IS THAT CRAP? ANYWAY ,love this album. Buy it!
