Zydeco with a hard kick!
Pick Up On This! is a truly great Zydeco CD, one that propelled the genre forward into a more modern, accessible sound. The heavy bass lines give it a true funk groove not used much before Beau Jocque and the Hi-Rollers came along. The best thing about all Beau Jocque CDs is his incredible voice. It's deep and rough,strong and powerful, and it pulls you in from the first few bars. Whether performing traditional songs or more contemporary covers, Beau and the band make them all uniquely their own. Give a listen to Give It To Me, Zydeco Boogie Woogie, and Hucklebuck. While all his CDs are worth your time, Pick Up On This! may be his best. Unfortunately, Beau isn't with us anymore, but his funky Zydeco style will always rule! "Don't forget to "crank it up, crank it up"!!!
