To everyone hating on this
The purpose of this project was not to create something that sounds like Modest Mouse, which is the basis of much of the criticism and poor reviews of this album. Do not buy this if you want to hear Modest Mouse. However if you would like to hear a bluegrass interpretation of these songs definatly check it out. There is some terriffic improv on here. This album stands to the duality of music.
I love this album.
This album is absolutely fantastic. Anyone who said otherwise obviously isn't a bluegrass fan. This album isn't supposed to sound like Modest Mouse. Its paying tribute to them and their songwriting and lyrical talents. If you don't like bluegrass music thats fine, but that doesn't mean that Iron Horse didn't do an incredible job transitioning these songs to a style that is pretty much the exact opposite of how they were originally written. This album is a must have for anyone who is a fan of good bluegrass and Modest Mouse.
Get a better deal
I have not bought or really listened to these songs. But what I have noticed is that there is another album with the same songs but more of them for the same price. Don't buy this, find the better one.
