They've got soul and they are no soldiers...
In all seriousness, this is the best new music I have heard in over 5 years. Every track is well thought out, the vocals are amazing, the band behind is solid and every song is catchy. I can't help but dance, even in the car. I've found a new soundtrack to my life so thank you!
Top Notch
Music of late has been rather mainstream and boring. Occasionally we find a few hit singles who then lose there gusto once you hear the rest of the album. Fitz &the Tantrums have broken free of these chains and have created a bold new sound for today's times by going back to the days when music was played by true musicians and not just a cute face with a good PR person. This album should definitely be heard by all, young and old. The songs are all catchy and fun with out suggestive themes or vulgarity it's just purely great music for every audience.
I've Got News For You
This is the best new, original music I have heard in a very, very long time. It channels that late 60's Motown sound with classic, yet modern vocals. I just saw these guys in Boston on Thursday, 1/20/11, at the old Harper's Ferry, and they blew the lid off the place. Even they were surprised by the rancor they induced from the crowd. This CD does not get old after 12 consecutive listens. These guys are gonna blow up soon, so if you get a chance to see them in a small venue like I did, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, and DO NOT HESITATE. Also, check them out on the web with Daryl Hall on "Live from Daryl's House." Amazing stuff.
A note: I have been on iTunes since before the iStore opened, and this is the first time I felt inclined to review anything, so what does that tell you?
