When I came to the states from UK - not many had heard of Peter Greene. Now he gets featured as the 'other' Eric Clapton'. This is England's best EVER blues guitarist and it stands out on Albatross, Black Magic Woman - (yes his) and the Need your love so bad - cover. Just listen - but we don't need the extra versions - and we could do with 'Man of the World'. This is guitar at its finest 'The guy who should have been born black' (BB King - or similar)

Don't Buy This Version

Pious Bird of Good Omen is a fantastic album in it its original form. It is an exhibition of British Blues Rock at its finest, however, this is not the original version of the album. This is Blue Horizon's version from 2004. This version contains 5 different takes of Need You love So Bad (probably because the band was able to put Little Willie John's classic on the charts in the UK for the 3rd time). However in doing this the album cut off great songs like: "Coming Home", "The Big Boat", "Looking For Somebody", and "Stop Messin' Round". They also put alternate versions of a couple songs, different from that of the original album. Not only are we cheated out of 5 great songs, but this is a huge disruption to the feel of the original album. I would avoid this version at all costs, unless you are trying to collect rare or alternate versions of the songs. iTunes needs to start making the original versions of the albums available for purchase.

British Blues

Between (the original) Fleetwood Mac and John Mayall (with the various incarnations of The Bluesbreakers), you have some of the finest British Blues. Listened to the original Mac on vinyl so often, we wore the grooves out.
