AM music

The best album i've heard off Merck Records. Lots of tracks with a wide variety of sounds and moods, this one can't be beat as far as late night/early morning listening goes. Not exactly party music, but none of the tracks are grating or overly repetative (how could they be at a minute for most tracks), and the songs really grow on you. There are some standout tracks (17, 18 and 19 are a particularly nice little set) but the album has a nice flow to it, so there's no need to keep a hand on the FF button. Really nice stuff, I highly recommend it, and i eagerly anticipate another album.

Phenominal

From Sweet Tooth Subway to Untitled, Pistachio Island is like listening to a very long song with many twists and turns. Each song is very short, which works so well for this album. They all have unique melodies, and don't waste time with annoying two minute drum beats. The album flows so smoothly, you hardly notice the transition from one song to the next, even though they have such different melodies. Excellent sound, percussion, rhythm, transition... Pistachio Island is undoubtedly one of the best albums I've ever purchased.
