Pistol City Holiness - Musical revival
For those of you who aren't familiar with Dave Perkins' work, I suggest you check his credentials. Perkins has a long resume that includes working with the likes of Vassar Clements, Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, Jerry Jeff Walker, Carole King, Papa John Creech, Steve Taylor and Chagall Guevara. This is Perkins' first solo project since 1987, and it's well worth the wait. Throughout the record he uses his diverse musical palate to its fullest potential. The combination of grizzled alternative rock mixed with Chicago based blues and southern soul creates an outstanding texture and sound. This album has truly revived my musical spirit. If you're looking for high enery, high octane, progressive blues based music, then look no further.

Dave Perkins is among the best artists there is. He's simply a fabulous guitarist and songwriter, and then comes that voice that can wake you up better than any coffee could ever hope to. I really like the "spirit" of Dave Perkins songs as well because there is truly Hope We Can Believe In. ;-) I am not really a big fan of the Blues but the more I listen to this album, the more I like it. Please Dave, keep it up!
