Joy, sorrow & places in between

This is the album that took Terri Hendrix from Texas up-and-comer to the national folk scene (Kerrville, Newport, etc.). The fun, catchy "Goodtime Van" is the greatest hit here -- it got a good bit of airplay and remains a staple at her live shows -- though the darker "Wish," "Fair," "It's a Given" and her great cover of "Motherless Children" are all just as good or even better. The playing is impeccable, but it's Terri's voice and writing that sets her apart from the crowd. That, and her gift for mixing things up: whether you're in the mood for "Joy" or "Sorrow," this record delivers.

I've had her other album for a while, and downloaded this based on enjoying her other work. This is a good album, and I really like Places In Between - excellent! I'm a fan of listening to an album as a whole...and I do like this album - can't wait for the next one! Keep it up!

Singer/songwriter Terri Hendrix was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. She left home to attend Hardin-Simmons University in Abelene on vocal scholarship before transferring to Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, where she continues to reside. While there she came under the influence of a local philanthropist, Marion Williamson, who owned a property in Hye, TX called Wilory Farm.
