Crystal Lewis turns Plain and Simple — her first non-holiday album release in six years — into a family project. The veteran Christian singer/songwriter’s son Solomon assists with production and various instrumental duties, daughter Izzi contributes vocals and husband Brian co-writes with Crystal and the kids. The result is a shimmering song collection built upon easy-flowing grooves and embellished with atmospheric guitars and keyboards. Lewis retains the distinctive vocal style that earned her a string of Christian hits over a decade ago. The album’s title number sets the tone for the tracks to follow by asserting a firm God-centered message over a rippling beat. Techno-pop backdrops bring out the silken finish to Lewis’ voice on tunes like “I Know You Are the One” and “I Don’t Wanna Fall.” The acoustic-flavored “Even the Rocks Cry Out” and the piano-driven “Revelation” illuminate Biblically based lyrics with modern sonic colors. Lewis balances songs of praise and devotion with tracks like “Daughter,” a loving message from mother to child.

I have been a fan of Crystal's since I was 13 (I'm now 31). I have loved all of her albums including her latest project Plain and Simple. This album is just amazing to me...such a creative and innovative sound! It's like nothing I've ever heard before. Of course Crystal's voice just takes it to a whole other level! Thank you so much Crystal and family for this project! I have already been so blessed through the words and songs! Thank you!
