This is really special
Every now and then I buy some music from someone I have never heard of. Often I am pleasantly surprised. This time I was blown away. I started out with three songs and got so hooked on them that I bought the whole album. It's beautiful. The gal singing is a wonder and the songs are beautifully produced. I still have no idea who they are or where they came from but I am ready for more. Take a chance with these folks. They're worth it.
Creativity Defined!
It's so refreshing to hear true creativity in music. Listening to this album is like walking through an art gallery with your eyes closed! Check it out...you will understand what I mean. An explosion of sound that takes you way beyond where you are now.
And they really do string the planet!
I had the pleasure of seeing MASS string up a mountain in Malibu and play it. What spirit, what soul, what respect for sound, what inventiveness, what generosity, what humbleness, what rock! The combination of creating their own longstring instruments, mixing them with traditional instruments and blending musical styles...magic. This new album is a soundscape to bliss out on at home on a weekend night, to play while you're feeding your child breakfast, or to dig on your iPod while you're taking public transport or riding your bike to work. Angelic vocals, harmonic strings, thumping rhythms, wailing guitar solos and grounding poetry combine to make you take a deep, full breath and realise that the world is pretty cool afterall. Give it a test flight...
