Finale!!
I really wanted jes to win, she was my favorite from the beginning. They all created the hit of their lives though. Sonyae does deserve it. She definately does create great concepts and lyrics! Can't wait for the next season!
WE WON!!! #TEAMSONYAE
My sister; Sonyae Elise snagged it. She deserved it HANDS DOWN. Time to celebrate! Thank you Bravo! Thank you Writing Camp! Thank you RCA/JIVE!
Why all the Sonyae hate?
I think all three finalists were great, but Sonyae consistently delivered amazing concepts and lyrics. And I am VERY annoyed by people who bash her attitude. All of the contestants were able to work with Sonyae. She only clashed with Nick, who had the worst attitude of all. She didn't talk about Jackie when everyone was bashing her. She was always focused, worked hard and never instigated drama. What's the problem? It must be her confidence and belief that she is the best, which is exactly how she should think if she wants to make it on the industry. I found Sonyae to be a breath of fresh air: she's real, determined, professional and so focused on success. I suspect the show wanted her to fill the "black diva with attitude who causes unnecessary drama" role of which reality TV can't seem to get enough. Was she strong and assertive on the show? Yes- so were the other successful candidates. Jes only made it to the end because she toughened up, got serious and stood up for herself. Was she a difficult diva who sabotaged sessions? Did she complain? Did she not give her best effort on every task? Honestly, just say you don't like her music (which is totally fair as it is a matter of personal preference), but don't accuse her of having a bad attitude simply because she is a confident black woman intent on being a success in the music industry.
