Album Review
Encompassing Augustana's evolution from their plaintive, Coldplay-esque beginnings on All the Stars and Boulevards through the rootsy reinvention of their self-titled third album in 2011, Playlist: The Very Best of Augustana gathers all of the choicest offerings from the Illinois rockers together in one place. Featuring cuts from all three of their studio albums, the collection makes for a perfect introduction to Augustana for anyone who may only be familiar with them from their breakout single, "Boston." While longtime fans will want to check out the live versions of "Sunday Best" and "Bullets," the album doesn't offer much else for anyone already familiar with the band, and is definitely more for someone looking to get a survey of what these guys are all about.
