The music on Natasha Bedingfield’s third album, Pocketful of Sunshine, falls exactly at the place where adult-contemporary rock and club music meet. “Pocketful of Sunshine” and “Angel” are reminiscent of Kelly Clarkson, were she more influenced by R&B than rock ’n’ roll. While rock theatrics have helped propel Bedingfield to the upper echelon of the pop charts, the best songs on Pocketful of Sunshine dig deeper into her soul influences. “Who Knows?” “Happy” and “Pirate Bones” are smart, subtly funky tracks that would be more at home next to Joss Stone than they would Avril Lavigne. In the end, it is Bedingfield’s ingratiating hooks that will attract the most fans. “Love Like This” and “Put Your Arms Around Me” are as catchy as Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable” and Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body,” and with the help of like-minded artists like Maroon 5’s Adam Levine (who appears in a duet on “Say It Again”) Bedingfield’s music should have no trouble finding its way out of the club and onto the sunny day radio playlists of pop fans everywhere.

Inspiring and Unique
by Ledapug20Wow! I thought "Unwritten" was good but this exceeded my expectations. Once I got this album as a B-day gift all I listened to were the popular songs "Love Like This" and "Pocketful of Sunshine" and I realized that the album was much more than that.
10/10 Put Your Arms Around me- catchy and sweet!
10/10 Angel- great lyrics, beat and music. Very creative!
12/10 Happy- Very uplifting and inspirational. Love the lyrics "During my stressin' I'm blinded to the lessons, that could be a blessin' if I'd be confessin' that the enemy I'm tryin' to beat is hidin' in me."
9/10 Not Givin' Up- Makes sense in relationships with lots of arguing, but still have love.
8/10 Piece of Your Heart- Catchy, not my favorite.
8/10 Who Knows?- again, catchy but not my favorite.
12/10 Soulmate- Amazing and true lyrics, very romantic and sweet!
6/10 Pocketful of Sunshine- I don't get what the big deal about this song is. I only liked it because it as popular... over rated.
9/10 Say It Again- Oh my god!!! When I figured out Adam Levine did the duet with N.B. I freaked!! N.B.'s my fav. singer and Maroon 5 is my favorite band! Really sweet and romantic song, catchy too!
7/10 Love Like This- Liked it because it was popular... but it's over rated.
10/10 Backyard- Catchy, Sweet but the lyrics are a bit cheesy
11/10 Pirate Bones- Great lyrics and the piano really emphasizes the lyrics.
12/10 Freckles- AMAZING lyrics that make me feel so good!
One of the things that I like about Natasha's music is that it has meaning, unlike all that other rap, hip hop, and popular music out there. Get some songs on this CD, you won't be disappointed. :D
And those of you who think just THE ONE SINGLE SONG Pocketfull of sunshine isn't too great, I would have to agree. But let me reiterate ITS ONE SONG ON THE WHOLE ENTIRE ALBUM!!! Listen to the ALBUM and you will hear some amazing music. SO PLEASE DO NOT JUDGE THIS WONDERFUL, AMAZING, ALBUM ON THAT ONE SONG... IF YOU DO YOU WILL MISS OUT ON A GREAT ARTIST AND ALBUM!!!!
