Another outstanding LP from a brother who truly knows jazz. I have enjoyed every one of his CD's and have yet to be disappointed. He also gives a great show, especially in small venues!

Poetically Justified

First of all what a great title...all of the special guest will tickle your ears just as Marcus tickles the keys as only he can do! If you don't have this one your jazz collection is missing an important CD... dinnertime, beach, evening or just kicking around... here is the CD to have close by! Again, Marcus you aimed to please and you've done just that....

Great Album!

Marcus really brings it with Poetically Justified. Every track is unique and engaging. Even cover tunes are creatively interpreted. Too often these days artists get comfortable with a certain style or groove and end up having a homogenous sound where one song bleeds into the next and everything sounds practically the same. Well not with this one! Marcus keeps it sexy, smooth, loungy and upbeat all seamlessly flowing from one track to the next to create a true experience rather than just sound. Trust me, you'll want to have this handy for your next dinner party, romantic evening, or lounging poolside. Cherish the Journey and Master of My Heart are a true delight and sure to become classics.

A smooth jazz keyboardist, Marcus Johnson incorporates the rhythms of rap with the soul of R&B. Johnson grew up listening to a broad variety of music: his mother played classical piano and his first memorable concert experience was seeing an Earth, Wind & Fire show with his father. His interest in jazz first showed itself when he began tinkling the keys at age 13 (his step-father won Maryland's "Pick-3 Lottery" and used the winnings to buy Johnson's first keyboard)...
