CLASSIC GUS GUS....

If you're into electronic music that has jazz-funk beat, cool bass lines and ambient noiz, listen and enjoy. A band from Iceland that didn't bore me but awed me instead. A band that not only can play electronic/ambient music but can play R&B/funk, also. I have one question for iTunes. Why didn't you put the double disc version instead? Because the second disc has the title song and remixes. Stand-Outs: Gun, Believe, Polyesterday, Barry, Cold Breath '79, Is Jesus Your Pal, Purple and Why.

Brilliant. Unique.

Nothing else quite like it. Deep, dark, decadently delicious.

Can't believe their next album, This Is Normal isn't in iTunes. Criminal. That is their 5-star pinnacle.

Amazing

This is an amazing album and it continues to hold up brilliantly more than ten years after its debut. It's arguably one of the most nuanced records ever made. There is an incredible attention to detail in the production and the whole affair is simply otherworldly. Gus Gus uses everything from jazz, funk, house, techno, and ambient, and all together it just works. Although this is an album that epitomizes the drug-crazed era of the 1990's, it never seems dated and could easily be released today and sound just as innovative and new as it did when first released.

Formed as a cinema collective in early 1995 by filmmakers Stefán Árni and Siggi Kjartansson, the group was gradually expanded to include musicians such as DJ Herb Legowitz...
