nigh-perfect pop...
although some may say "deserter," with its elegiac overtones, is matthew dear's most affecting work to date, i would argue that this track here may be the pinnacle of his ever-maturing canon. a simple and playful melody buoys the otherwise wistful lyrics, resulting in a brilliantly realized, unaffected "pop" song perfect for dancefloors, winding roads, small gatherings, and headphones. oh, and i absolutely worship the juan maclean. buy anything he does - it's worth the money, and he deserves the support.

It didn't take long for Matthew Dear to catapult himself into the front rank of microhouse producers, emerging in the early 2000s with a string of high-quality releases for Spectral Sound, Plus 8, and Perlon.
