One of the Best Rock Albums of the Aughts

Can't believe there has been only one other review of this. This truly is a great album in the old sense of the word --- a cohesive collection of songs linked thematically by the struggle against addiction, which singer Greg Dulli was facing. That being said, the lyrics are subtle, dark, imaginative and heartfelt and the album doesn't hit you over the head with the addition theme. The lyrics are open to interpretation. The songs are catchy, and Dulli's voice is as gritty and brooding as it has ever been. You'll find that you keep on noticing new stuff in the album even after you have listened to it 30 times.

GREEAAT!

Dulli sound is great as always and if you love this check out his cover of Paper thin hotel by Leonard Cohen!

Stick your toe in the water...

Keep going going toward the waves, a little deeper still until there's been an accident. Until you meet Bonnie Brae, then you're hooked. And by Candy Cane Crawl you're a goner. You'll resurface sometime around the end of I wish I was... only to hit repeat again...
