Any time a band releases a new album, at first you're probably not going to like it. You have to let the album kinda grow on you, the more you listen to it, the better it gets. This album is no different. With the exception of only a few tracks, namely Pray for Villains, Waiting for November, Another Night in London, Bitter Pill, and Teach Me to Whisper, this album completely let me down. But before bad mouthing it, I decided to give it a fighting chance and listen to it a second time. You'll probably have to do the same. It's completely different sounding than their previous albums. All aspects of the music has changed slightly, but what's changed most are Fafara's lyrics. I did not expect the kind of lyrics on this album from DevilDriver (especially in Teach Me to Whisper.) If you expect this to be anything like the DevilDriver you're used to, forget it. I'm usually very open minded and like change, but I've yet to make up my mind about this album. But I can tell you this, this album didn't live up to my expectations. I had high hopes for this album and was kind of disappointed. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't suggest buying it. One thing's for sure, this album probably won't blow you away like you'd hoped. 3/5 for me.
