This is NOT the original theme
I would like to start by saying that I am a HUGE Predator fan and that I am sad that this in not the original Main Theme from the movie.
It is, in fact, the same composition, but has been re-arranged and recorded by John Beal. I do think that the original theme for the movie is better than this version. However, there is nothing that I truly don't like about this version, other than the original is better.
I am not saying that you should or shouldn't buy this song, mainly because it's very hard to find the original (I have the original on a Sci-Fi TV and movie soundtrack box set called "Brain In A Box - The Science Fiction Collection"), but If you can find the original version, I'm sure you would enjoy that much more than this version. If you can't find the original, this is a good supplement.
5 stars for the music, 3 stars for the re-recording
When will the Orignal Soundtrack EVER come out???
Honestly when will Alan ever re-release the orignal soundtrack to the first movie? I own the one for the second which was good but the first was the one I loved the best. It makes no sence that he could do something like this but yet not rerelease the orignal whole soundtrack to the public.
Better Version Here!
For those disappointed with this version like me, there is an orchestra performed version available here on iTunes as well. The album is called something like "The Film Music of Alan Silvestri". It isn't the original soundtrack, but it is a lot closer than this synthesizer stuff. Seems to be the next best thing to finding the actual score.
