The Red Chord Does It Again
I picked up this album this morning, and listened to it start to finish. The album is well structured, with the perfect amount of chaos, uniqueness, and guitar lines that make me melt. With fourteen tracks, I would expect a filler but nay, every song kept me interested all throughout. Jonny Davy from Job For A Cowboy and Nate Newton from Converge make guest appearances, which adds to the ruggedness of the album. My personal favorite tracks are Dread Prevailed, Pray for Eyes, and It Came From Over There. The latter of the three is instrumental, containing interesting sounding moog and organ lines courtesy of Mirai Kawashima. This is so far, my favorite release of 2007, tied with Dream Theater's Systematic Chaos. All in all, a great buy.
