An Expendables Classic!!!

Just bought this cd at midnight and it's sick!!! Definitely the best Expendables cd yet. These guys have come a long way since I started seeing them in cali in 2002....the album has something for everyone from the chill vibe of wells to the heavy iron maiden influences of DCB to the catchy lines in dance girl dance. Guitar work is off the chart. G Love is on here too on wells which is a nice surprise, and some of the stoopid guys play horns which makes sense cause it's on stoopid records!! All around great album. They rip it live too, I just saw them on the last tour, definitely a show worth seeing.

not gonna lie...

...I'm a little disappointed. The Expendables are one of my all-time favorite bands and I've been very eagerly awaiting this album. I respect the fact that they're progressing in their music, like any good band should, but I think they've just gone in a direction that is a little less to my liking. I will say that the guitar work is pretty good but Prove It just doesn't have the same vibe as their previous albums.

The album every Expendables fan has been waiting for.

It has been close to 6 years since the band dropped their breakout album "Gettin Filthy". They left the confines of backyards and fraternity parties for major venues/clubs but onstage they have never lost the energy that made them so appealing at the start of their career. The Expendables have always been labeled a "live" band that hadn't quite captured their unique sound on record. But this album finally PROVES IT. Geoff and Adam's vocals are superb throughout the record. The production is top notch on this record thanks to Paul Leary & El Hefe (NoFX). Like any of their records you will find the gross/comical/drunk anthems such as "One Drop" and "Trying to Focus", a song about life on the road with a bunch of smelly guys. At the same time we also see the maturity of 4 individuals who are coming into their own collectively with songs such as "Wells" & "I Aint Ready". The Expendables have always been the wildcard in their genre, they have attempted throughout their career to keep things fresh and exciting, "Donkey Show" & "D.C.B." (Devils Coke Boner), proves once again that even though they play reggae Raul Bianchi & Geoff Weers can truly rip on guitar and lay down some mean metal & punk tracks. Years on the road have given The Expendables preparation for what will be an exciting and much bigger stage show as they navigate through the music industry on their own terms with the release of "PROVE IT".
