Bombay Black

This album is definitely worth checking out I came across one day and was impressed with what they had to offer. These guys should be played on the radio there's too many great rock bands that just don't get the exposure and get what they deserve.

Fresh and New!

Great CD that provides a fresh and new sound to the melodic/hard rock music genre. This is a must buy for anyone who enjoys screaming guitars, hard-driving drum and bass lines, anthemic/melodic choruses and a killer voice fronting each song. I've enjoyed Bombay Black's music for a couple of years now - both live and on CD - but I have to say Psycho Magnet is the best yet that I've heard from this band.

BETTER THAN WHAT'S ON THE RADIO!

In case the band's reading this: WHERE IS THE SHAG PALACE??? I WANNA GO!!! :) I had bought Psycho Magnet and Anger Management from these guys, but Psycho Magnet is far and away the better of the two. The band seems to have found a recipe that works for them (take all the great points of 80s rock and bring it forward) and there's no better example than this album. Many songs could be radio singles if the radio machine were so inclined to give bands other than the acceptable major label norms a shot. My favorites are tracks 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8. My least favorite song is "Break Up Anthem" and I still like it. "SFCR" is the song about the previously mentioned Shag Palace, which is an actual place according to interviews I've read online. The title track should probably be renamed "Manwhore Song" as it details the woes of a male horndog who can't seem to hook up with a woman without her emotions inevitably getting in the way. There's no songs of suicide, depression, or angst except for "Misery", but it's played and sung with such enthusiasm that it's more like they enjoy it. The singer's voice is really unique. He's got a very solid and distinctive voice without sounding like every other rock singer in the scene. No screaming, no "cookie monster", and no pitiful whining. Psycho Magnet is a solid, kick@$$ hard rock and metal album.
