Goth Lives....
If you always wanted more Sisters of Mercy check out the Merry Thoughts. Marvin Arkhams growl is spot on Eldritch. Sprawling guitars and drum machine shine on Heat and Goddess. The Sun & the Rainfall is a great Depeche Mode cover. Get this you won't be sorry.
tMt: A Major Case Of Overbombing
The mysterious Marvin Arkham and the Thought Machine bring you The Merry Thoughts. Although Mr. Arkham claims he's just a clever pop musician and never intended on sounding EXACTLY like The Sisters of Mercy, that is the unmistakable conclusion anyone would come to. Some say it may just be Andrew Eldritch in clever pop disguise. Others claim tMt are just imitators. No matter what you decide on that subject, you'll definitely enjoy this entire album. Track 10 is supposed to be titled "Goddess (M.Arkham Homebrew)" as it is an excellent remix of said song. If you've grown tired of waiting for a new Sisters album, find out what you missed in 1996 with Psychocult. Highlights include the industrial dance favorite "We Love To", the bombastic "Heat" and the unique take on Hazel O'Conner's "Will You". T.S. Eliot references, political intrigue and sensual imagery abound, this is not to be missed. A Shimmering, Post-punk, Industrial Groove Machine for the new millenium!
