Remember when punk-o-rama samplers used to be punk rock?

Sure the rancid, bad religion, bouncing souls, and typical punk bands are on there. And I can't complain about Atmosphere or Sage, but indie rap doesn't belong on a punk disc.
The worst aspect of this ridiculous random compilation is it's LOADED with new emo songs of guys that scream like girls and girls that scream like guys. But if you're into that I'm sure you can pick this up at your local hot topic next time you go to update your vampire wardrobe. Enjoy.

absolutely fantastic...

This album has something for absolutely everyone. Some songs are slow, some are melodic, some (like Thickfreakness) are blues influenced, but every song is good in one way or another. there is even an alternative hip-hop song on here (Makeshift Patriot). Just buy the whole album! It's definitely worth the price.

Punk this, punk that...

Generally (putting the definition of punk aside and moving onto the stereotypical/original sound of the music) when picking up an album named "Punk-O-Rama" one expects (and wants) to hear that old time punk sound - the snotty vocals, fast guitar, lots of snare, angry rebel lyrics, and crummy sound quality, for example. Sure, you've got the U.S. Bombs on here, as well as punk rock's all stars Rancid (like 'em or not), to name a few, but a lot of these bands are less punk (sounding) and more poppy. Then there are a few on this compilation that have that modern day hardcore, almost metal, sound to their music. Honestly, in my opinion, there are a few good tracks on this one (a few meaning one or two), but the majority is just that annoying stuff you tend to hear when you're first discovering punk in an area where you have to dig deep to find the punk scene. This album is definitely not for everyone, so listen to all the previews first before throwing your parents' money towards this compilation.
