I never knew I could like old man music so much !
I've never been a big fan of Bob Dylan and have always shied away from "man + guitar" type acts but Turner's music has been a real revelation. Not that there's much finger in the ear tye folk going on here. Very groovy stuff.
Very good
His dad is currently my history teacher and he told us about Turner's new album. It's charming, quirky folk that would fit perfectly well in an indie film, documentary, or coffee shop. He is touring in Europe behind Adam Green (the guy who co-wrote the music for the film Juno) in 2008.
Cool, man
His dad was my history teacher for my second semester of 9th grade, and one day he said he had this rock n' roller son. He wrote down his website on the board, I went to it, I emailed him, and he mailed me a CD chock full of folksy goodness. Great stuff!
