Album Review

New Medicine have clearly brushed up on their hard rock history, and Race You to the Bottom — the band’s hyper-swaggering debut — covers every one of the genre’s bases. It’s got the hard-hitting anthems, fueled by riffage and guitar distortion. It’s got the ballads, where minor-key arpeggios meet ruminations on heartbreak and depression. It’s also got the tough-guy persona (“Laid”), the occasional detour into Beastie Boys-styled rap-rock (“Race You to the Bottom”), and a wide panel of producers to fine-tune each song, from emo-pop architects S*A*M & Sluggo to R&B veteran Steve Hodge.

Very interesting style

This band may seem to have a simple song structure, but I find their mix of punk and hard rock/riff rock styles pretty interesting. If you like punk, hard rock, or just plain old energetic music definitely buy this album.

I love these guys!

New Medicine is an amazing band! they may not have intense guitar or drum solos, but its fun to listen to, and fun to party to. these guys are also incredible live, saw them whith disturbed and A7X, incredible. if you like punk or hip hop lyrics, and some sick guitar, you will like these guys.

Wow.

This is horrible. What ever happened to their good stuff before they changed who's in their band?
