Customer Reviews
One of the best.
This is superb performance by an outstanding regional orchestra. David Zinman conducts with great feeling and skillfully paints both the somber and soaring portions of this wonderful symphony. Both orchestra and recording match the demands of this wide-ranging emotional composition. The Vocalise is very nicely done and a good example of Rachmaninoff's melodic composition sung with a single vowel. This recording makes a fine gift for music lovers and also to interest youth, particularly teens, in classical music.
