What's that noise in the background?

Don't get me wrong, this album is very good, especially the Prelude in D. However, it is always distracting to me to hear the pianst making noises (singing notes, exhaling loudly) while playing. This is very evident on this album with a few songs. If this doesn't bother you, I would very much recommend this album.

Incredible

This is one of the finest recordings by Vladimir Askenazy. His interpretation of Rachmaninoff's Preludes is flawless, and his technical ability allows him to play with emotion and the intended tempi that all of Rachmaninoff's music requires. It is also nice to hear some quality recordings of music by Rachmaninoff other than the concertos and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. For those of you who are complaining about the, "noise in the background". Haven't you heard any of Glenn Gould's recordings? He hums along to the right hand for measures at a time, and if you are telling me that he is a poor pianist than you know even less about music than I originally thought.

Incredible

Anyone wanting what i consider a perfect example of how Rachmaninoff would want his preludes executed should buy this album without a second thought.
