iTunes Review

No More Drama, proclaim the title and at least two tracks of Mary J. Blige’s fifth studio album. Maybe. But she’s still not above wagging a finger in your face if she senses you need it — whether you’ve crossed her in romance (the dramatic opener “Love,” which spells out the word as if spitting it on the ground before a battle) or simply walked into the room when PMS has the best of her. Few singers’ work is as explicitly personal as the one who reminds her fans “I’m just Mary.” No matter how high her star rises though (and collaborators here include Dr. Dre, Missy Elliott, the Neptunes and Eve), she’s always singing for anyone who connects with her soul cry. Blige may be fighting to escape her own complex set of problems, but that work never gets in the way of an emotional generosity that’s on display throughout this set’s 70-plus excellent minutes.

Mary J. Blige-One Of The Best Singers Ever!

Mary J. Blige is better than Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Kelly Rowland, and Rihanna! I love all of these artists, but Mary J. Blige can beat them anytime! Not only does she have an amazing voice, but every song on this album are put together nicely! Also, she looks amazing on the album cover! If you dont feel like buying the whole album, you should atleast buy:
2. "Family Affair"
6. and 11. "No More Drama"
7. "Rainy Dayz"
9. "Beautiful Day"
10. "Dance For Me"
13. "Never Been"
17. "Testimony"

I like all of the songs except number 3, "Steal Away"!

The Best

Family Affair is the best song on the whole album. You should buy it!! I love it:)

The BEST of the best!

This album is GREAT! I remember seeing the music video for "No More Drama" on MTV back in 2001, and I liked the song because it relates to my life in a way. So I downloaded the CD on iTunes and at first, I didn't like it, but then it grew on me, and now I listen to it VERY often! It's a GREAT buy!

Biography

Born: January 11, 1971 in New York, NY [The Bronx]

Genre: R&B/Soul

Years Active: '90s, '00s

When her debut album, What's the 411?, hit the street in 1992, critics and fans alike were floored by its powerful combination of modern R&B with an edgy rap sound that glanced off of the pain and grit of Mary J. Blige's Yonkers, NY, childhood. Called alternately the new Chaka Khan or new Aretha Franklin, Blige had little in common stylistically with either of those artists, but like them, she helped adorn soul music with new textures and flavors that inspired a whole generation of musicians....
