a 'Ruckus' of 'beat for your feet'!!

I've seen these folks a couple time live over the last ten years. Their concerts are highly charged with 'swing aiming the beat at your feet!!". I have all of their CD's. Even though the cast of characters has changed over the years their productions always seem consistently solid. This new CD remains true to their history. A bit jazzy at times but still has plenty of 'beat for the feet!!'. Highly recommend.

The Most Musically Adept A;lbum They've Done in a Long Time!

A very worthwhile addition to the catalog. This is a more advernturous album than they've done in a while. Lots of the party songs that we love about them ("Big Mamou"), plus lots of great musicianship. A little more of a jazz influence, too. My favorite musicianship moment is in "I Would Be a Sinner," where two saxophones play against only a drum track, followed by a short but great bass rip. It's magical. If I have any criticism, it's that the singing is a little lacking in the passion department. But still very, very worthwhile! P.S., Bob Enos, rest in peace, brother. We will miss your energy.

Describing Roomful of Blues that way, however, gives short shrift to the many accomplished musicians who have emerged from the band's ranks over the years: guitarists Duke Robillard and Ronnie Earl, organist Ron Levy, pianist Al Copley, singer...
