Soul Music
Real Is Real. U know When you First heard Bands like Portishead or Mogwai? U know when your hearing something New & Honest Right? This is how i feel about this Midnight Masses EP. I got a chance to see them live a few times & the shows confirm they are a great band. i love the Vocal harmony. When i listen to the lyrics to "Walk on Water or "Preacher's son" they are Dark but i think someone can sing these words in a Black Baptist Church in the south and it will be at home there too. Soulful Words. When the vocals kick in for "Desparate Man" it brings to mind P.J. Harvey or Nico With the Velvet Underground....Okay You get It! Great Album!

This is a huge step forward for them. What a cool band. Shades of Nick Cave, Motown and the Doors but still very fresh sounding!
