Confident, intelligent pop...impressive!
Listening to this album, I've admired Ravishers as a band that clearly knows what it's doing: Making quality, memorable pop music.
It's hard to overstate the quality of their musicianship and songwriting. I'm reluctant to compare Ravishers to other groups, but there is one whose studio craft and talent come to mind: XTC. While they don't SOUND like XTC (Spoon is more frequently cited), the band makes music with the same hallmarks as that sterling pop group from yesteryear.
And that's a high compliment!
