Customer Reviews

You were meant to rule the dark; I was meant to see the sun.

Since the day I first – and let me tell you, I did so cautiously, not having heard Forgive Durden before – listened to this, I fell in love with it. I had no idea what to expect when I first began to listen, but with each successive song came a brand-new favorite for me. As I write this, I'm listening to "The Exit", the best song on the album behind "Toba the Tura", and the guest appearances on this album make it even better. The orchestral parts of this album mix perfectly with the modern musical feel of this album, as well as the intriguingly precise, articulate way the narrator tells the story of Adakias and the City of Light. It's an experience with every listen. The vocals and lyrics are by far my absolute favorite part of this album, and like me, you'll probably find yourself singing along before long. The album as a whole is a masterpiece that I have come to listen to way too many times for my own good in the last week or so. If you like almost anything in the Alternative/Pop/Pop Punk genre, this is a given – you, too, will fall in love with this CD. Listen to it in order, listen closely to the story, and appreciate the way characters are drawn with all but simple melodies and lyrics that will make your heart soar every time.

I honestly hope someday this is made into a real musical, because I've never been to one, I never used to like them, and I want this to be my first. Wonderful album, (almost) no matter what you like. And I'm not just saying that. This is the first time I've ever heard Forgive Durden, and I was – and still am – completely awestruck.

I Can't Describe It

Let me first say that my review doesn’t give Razia’s Shadow justice. No review can. No words can truly describe how well-written, how put together, and how meaningful this album is.
Razia’s Shadow is amazing. It’s got a great story and an even deeper message. The lyrics are amazing, and the music just blows you away.
Genesis immediately sets the tone of the record. It’s all about destiny, faith, and just following your dreams. The accentuation of the chorus awakens all parts of your mind, and you know right off the bat how great Razia’s Shadow is.
The rest of the record is completely astonishing. The story gets deeper and deeper, and you just feel more and more involved as the songs go on. The narration really adds to the record.
When Razia’s Shadow finishes with The End And The Beginning, you will be left speechless. The song is astoundingly complex, and the climax gets inside of you. The record ends with a command for you to carry on with the musical, live life to the fullest, and love with all of your heart.
Replay this CD. You’ll love it more and more each time you give it a listen.
Think about what the record says. You know it can connect with everyday life.
Pass the CD on to some friends. Thomas Dutton deserves not only a round of applause, but also and standing ovation for the message he is trying to send out and for the pure creative genius that he is.
Don’t miss out on the greatest record you will probably ever hear.

The Seattle-based pop/rock act Forgive Durden were formed in 2003 by leader vocalist/guitarist Thomas Dutton. After the addition of second guitarist Thomas Hunter to the lineup, the quartet hopped on the road in support of the record....
