iTunes Review
Razorlight's eponymous second album not only avoids the sophomore slump, it refines the disparate influences of their promising debut into a more satisfying — if deja vu-prone — whole. While there's no denying the UK band wear their Rock of the 80s affections proudly on their sleeves throughout — particularly on the rambunctious, INXS-mugs-Boomtown Rats opener "In the Morning" and the early U2 influences of "Pop Song 2006" — songwriter/frontman Johnny Borrell uses them as building blocks, rather than mere touchstones. Borrell may channel some vintage Chrissie Hynde angst into "Hold On," but he also seems to have discovered where it all began on "Before I Fall to Pieces" and "Who Needs Love," tracks that recall the '50s in general and Dion in particular. Borrell's bandmates also rise to the occasion, with Bjorn Agren's focused guitar licks underscoring the album's stripped-down pop economy. The effervescent UK chart-topper "America" contrasts sharply with the ambitious, sprawling drama of the closing "Los Angeles Waltz," an arc that better argues the band's true range and potential.

Amazing Album, Amazing Band
What a Great album, up all night was good but this one matches it
I Can't Stop This Feeling I've Got
Razorlight's second album is a wake up call, focusing on life and the harsh truths of reality. Opening with "In the Morning," the consequences of "last night" and what you did bite back at you like a terrible hangover. "America" is a wonderful ballad about the United States' cultural influence, centralizing its theme on the "...panic in America...." "Los Angeles Waltz," an emotionally driven track that lays all of frontman Johnny Borrell's true emotions down, is beautiful as it is heartbreaking, like the feeling you get when a Los Angeles sunset fades away. In conclusion, this album isn't meant to match the same energetic, fizzy, and upbeat sound as "Up All Night." "Razorlight" is more of a follow-up, a morning-after album, concentrating on real life as the lights turn back on, blindingly illuminating the consequences, decisions, and choices from "last night."
Good Follow-up Album
This album has to be one of the best albums currently out this month. Although it is not quite as catchy as their first album, this album has a few gems. My favorite song is 'America'- and go listen/download it. It's great. A lot of times, bands will sell out in their first album and play songs that aren't essentially them inorder to get their name out there. Once it is out there, they usually try to play their true music. Razorlight's true music...is definitley superb. Brilliant!
