Unconventional
I don't know that anyone has gotten the 'message' of this song. He's singing about accepting Christ. It has nothing to do with rebelling against your parents, hating your parents or anything of the like. He's using what goes on in many homes around the world to show how screwed up the 'family' dynamic is these days. When you become a child of the Heavenly Father, the day will come when you won't have to face that kind of treatment or abuse. The rebellion in this song, ironically, is the acceptance of Christ. We live in a fallen world where accepting Christ is the rebelliuos thing to do, hence the title.
Amazing
Does anyone listen to lyrics anymore. Brian Head Welch is an amazing muscian and his music is about love and Christ. And anyone who says he is not a Christian and his music isnt Christian is not listening to the music and or the context of the lyrics. His lyrics are powerful and truthful all the way thru the cd. If you Love God and Love Rock then this is the cd for you.

If you really knew what the song was about then you wouldn't be saying that....The song's about how some children live in these Religion-less homes where their parents treat them like dirt, and the song calls for His (God's) children to rise up and "Rebel" against their parents to find a greater love in the Lord Jesus Christ.
