A rare "tour de force" debut you
Lizzy Ross Band dishes up a 4-course meal of every kind of musical delight in their debut album "Read Me Out Loud." Anyone who's had the chance to see LRB live knows this girl has the pipes to blow the doors off a bank vault, but she can also deliver it soft and sweet and make you want to listen over and over. On this album she does it all.
"Read Me Out Loud" begins with the menacing "Black River" (inspired by Zombieland) and travels through a dozen songs of life and love wrapped up by the beautiful and moving "Traces." If you have the time, try to listen to the whole album all the way through and really hear the words. Lizzy Ross has a true poet's voice that reveals a soul much older than her 20-something years can explain.
I hope you'll find as much in this album as I have. It's a genuine 5-star. I honestly love it.
