Waited a Long Time for This...
It's been so long since this group released an album, I'd almost lost hope that they would put out another one. So I was very excited to finally find a new album, and it's proving to be as tightly played and recorded as previous albums. The music is really growing on me now that I've listened to it three or four times -- if you're a fan of Phat Phunktion, you should download this and give it some time to soak in. These guys have a great jazzy R&B sound that reminds me of Tower of Power and early Chicago -- and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Musicianship like this does not come along every day, and I'm glad I finally get to hear some new music from one of my favorite groups. A real treat.
