Album Review

Robbie Williams' Rudebox was one of the most enjoyable records of his career, but it wasn't a commercial success. Its follow-up, Reality Killed the Video Star, attempts to right the ship, and as such, it becomes everything its predecessor was not. The album is given an MOR blockbuster production by Trevor Horn, with arrangements by his longtime co-writer Anne Dudley. It certainly has the sound it needs to succeed with Williams' aging audience and also clean up on BBC Radio 2. Williams remains an excellent ballads singer, well suited for this grandiose backing. The album is front-loaded, beginning with "Morning Sun," the best and most deeply felt song on the album.

Sing When You're Winning

You're almost back in top form again Robbie, but something is missing...I love your music. This album is the closest thing you're going to get to classic Robbie since he was shutting it down with Sing When You're Winning! It's not his best album, but if you're a fan, skip the rest of his albums since Sing When You're Winning and get this one!

Great from start to finish

Most artists have one or two songs on a CD that I buy. This is one of those CDs that I bought all the album. Robbie is great. I still have no idea why he is not a bigger success in the US. If you need to try one or two songs go with Bodies and Morning Sun. you'll be hooked.

Great Album!!

I had been missing me some Robbie, I love his music. The last album I bought left me a little down not his best but this one is great! I like every song from beggiing to end... reminds me of The Ego has landed. Get it its great! Some great beats along with some great ballads... Just right.

Biography

Born: February 13, 1974 in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffor

Genre: Pop

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Out of all the members of Take That, Robbie Williams never really seemed to fit in. Roguishly handsome where his bandmates were merely cute, Williams was tougher and sexier than the rest, which made him more distinctive. He also fought regularly with the other members and their management, primarily because he was occasionally adverse to being so heavily packaged. So it didn't come as a surprise that he was the first to leave the band, departing early in the summer of 1995 to pursue a solo career...
