iTunes Review

Australian duo An Horse harkens back to the ‘80s jangle pop of so many college radio bands — and those who never made it that far — but it’s a sound well worth revisiting. Guitarist/vocalist Kate Cooper and drummer Damon Cox deliver wistful, irresistible pop tunes, with simple, propulsive guitar rhythms, bright tambourines and a big, driving drum sound. Cox’s back-up vocals pair beautifully with Cooper’s strong but plaintive voice, and the songs are carefully structured with a tightly wound energy that occasionally breaks for air without losing momentum. There are a number of standouts (the see-sawing “Camp Out,” the emotionally fiery “Company” and “Little Lungs,” the tense “Postcards,” and the hyperkinetic “Horizons,” to name a few), but Rearrange Beds is packed throughout with indie pop of the highest quality; even the lyrics are smart and sweet, and will hook even the most jaded. Cooper pounces on top of bass drum lines with lyrics like “I believe in horizons now” and “Oh my God, you’re a handful!” matching syllables to martial beats with vigor. You’ll be doing the same before long.

Great Band

An Horse put on an amazing show last night at the Norva in Norfolk, VA. During their performance some jerk in the audience told them to "go back to Australia." I just want to say that if I was standing next to that a**hole, I would have knocked him out cold. I hope that the band continues to find success in America, you are welcome back anytime in my book.

This band is AWESOME.

I saw An Horse live in Arcata, CA in 2008 as the opener for Tegan & Sara. I loved the EP and I love this new album! Their sound is raw, catchy and addicting: they're both super-cute and talented, and it comes out in their live shows. They deserve to make it abroad, so buy this album and support a great new duo!!

I belive in Horizons Now!

I never write a review for a CD, but this one called for it! I have never felt this way about an artist. The songs are amazing and I just can't stop listening to them. Cant wait for them to come to NY
