iTunes Review
Montgomery Gentry’s seventh studio album may have had tumultuous roots, but the duo sounds more solid than ever on Rebels on the Run. “Damn Right I Am” kickstarts the album with a flag-waving, fist-pumping, soldier-thanking anthem that also champions the Constitution’s Second Amendment. The duo unleashes timeless twang-rock on the following “Ain’t No Law Against That,” where banjos, standup piano, pedal steel, and distorted Telecasters kick out a rowdy tune with a strong carpe diem sentiment. Of course it wouldn’t be a Montgomery Gentry album without some heavy love for small-town living, and “Where I Come From” gives ’80s-era John Mellencamp a run for his money with a heartland hymn that champions the Mayberry life with honed hooks of golden melody.
Customer Reviews
O hell yeah
If you're looking for an album you can turn on and not worry about skipping to the next track this is it. Montgomery Gentry has kept true to their roots and has put together another butt kicking rockin' country album. You can't help but want to sing along with every track and make a connection to them in the proccess. This is what country music is about and where it should be going. Enough of the "pop" stuff! These songs tells the story like it really is. I can't wait to hear more of these songs on the radio or get a chance to hear them live in person. Thank you MG for staying true and putting out some more great music for all us fans.
