Album Review

Produced by Dutch drum'n'bass superstars NOISIA, For the Masses is Leeds grindie pioneers Hadouken!'s second album. 2008's Music for an Accelerated Culture was a surprise hit for the band; this time, the dance/electronic element to Hadouken!'s sound is much more prominent, as heard on the single "Turn the Lights Out.", Rovi

Another Big Step for Hadouken!

First and foremost, this album is different from their first. Gone are most of the highschool-esque lyrics, instead, we get the more serious side of Hadouken! - sometimes retrospective, and often cynical - all still very entertaining.

All of the songs on this album have a much deeper feeling to them; complete with better buildups, beats, and hooks. Hadouken! have always been known to take some cues from The Prodigy, which is still the case, but still remain true to their swagger.

All in all, this album is amazing. Every song is a great dance song, with the standout tracks being "Turn the Lights Out", "House is Falling Down", and my personal favorite on the album, the epic-finisher "Lost". Buy it, you won't be sorry.

I'd hate to say it but this album was a dissapointment. It seemed more like they were trying to make some strange dance club album instead of real music like Music For An Accelerated Culture. I'll stick with their first album if you don't mind.

They came together in late 2006 when two Leeds University students — James Smith...
